Service Description

Unyt helps you organize personal/family finance information (e.g., bank accounts, investments, insurance, properties, liabilities, contacts, passwords, and documents). Certain fields (like notes and saved passwords) use client‑side end‑to‑end encryption (E2EE); we cannot decrypt this content.

Your Content & License

You retain ownership of content you provide. You grant us a limited, non‑exclusive license to process your content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service (e.g., storing metadata, generating presigned URLs). E2EE content is stored only as encrypted payloads that we cannot read.

Proprietary Rights & User License

The Service, including its software, designs, trademarks, and content (excluding your content), is owned by the Company and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, non‑sublicensable license to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, create derivative works of, distribute, or exploit the Service except as expressly permitted. Any feedback you provide may be used by us without restriction or obligation.

Acceptable Use

Do not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or violate laws/rights of others. Do not upload illegal or harmful content. Avoid storing plaintext secrets in fields not intended for secrets.

Plans, Limits & Changes

Usage may be subject to plan limits (e.g., items and storage). We may reasonably limit/suspend features if limits are exceeded or to protect the Service. We may modify or discontinue features with notice where feasible.

Communication Policy

You consent to receive service communications (e.g., OTPs, security alerts, transactional emails/SMS). You may opt out of non‑essential marketing messages, but you cannot opt out of essential operational communications. Message/data rates may apply from your carrier.

Third‑Party Services

We rely on third‑party providers (e.g., Firebase for token verification, cloud storage services, email/SMS providers, observability tooling). Your Google Sign‑In use is also subject to Google terms and privacy policies.

Security & E2EE

We implement industry‑standard safeguards. Notes/passwords are encrypted client‑side using strong encryption algorithms. We never store your master password or plaintext of such content. Files are uploaded/downloaded via presigned URLs; we store metadata and references.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your content, misuse of the Service, or violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Assignment & Waiver

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our rights.

Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for policy violations, security risks, suspected fraud, non‑payment, or as required by law. You may discontinue use at any time and request account deletion as per our Privacy Policy.
